Volunteer Opportunities
Do you want to serve but don’t know where to start?
Your United Way is a connection point for volunteers to serve with us or with one of our partner agencies. We can help you discover where to serve and the organizations who need your valuable time.
Your community needs your time and talents
Volunteer Placement
United Way of Athens-Limestone County is always looking for volunteers. Anyone looking to serve their community can contact us, and we will help you find a project that will best fit your needs. Volunteers can be placed within the United Way office, or any of our partner agencies.
Front Desk Volunteer Program
Persons looking to volunteer on a regular basis can sign up for our Front Desk Program, where volunteers greet visitors, answer phones, and help with mailing. Volunteers in this program can volunteer any day Monday through Friday, from 9 AM – Noon or Noon – 3 PM. Front desk volunteers receive a monthly calendar as a reminder of their reserved time.
Youth Volunteer Program
The Youth Volunteer Program offers opportunities for students to fulfill their goal of short-term volunteer projects within United Way agencies or through other community partners. Many students who volunteer for this program are working as a part of a church group or school organization. The activities are diverse, meeting the varied needs of the agencies while utilizing the wide range of the volunteers’ talents.
